The University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom have announced a seven-day mourning period for their graduating students who lost their lives in a fatal motor accident on their way to NYSC Camp orientation exercise on Wednesday, this week.
The deceased were reported to have boarded a bus from Uyo going down to Katsina to meet their fellow PCMs when the bus they boarded had a terrible accident killing a number of them, and leaving many more injured.

The memo released by Siggy.ng states that all flags around the campuses are to be flown at half-mast while all Staffs and Students of the University were enjoined to identify with the institution as she mourns her lost souls.
The Vice Chancellor UNIUYO, Professor Nyaudoh Ukpabio Ndaeyo, prayed for the souls of the deceased to receive rest in the Lord’s blosom and also prayed to God to comfort the families that have lost their loved ones.
