Some students of the University of Calabar have questioned the school's credibility after its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Florence Obi, allegedly requested that final year students in some selected departments return to 200 level over accreditation issues.

The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has condemned some lecturers in the university who have resorted to giving students scripts to write exams at homes, hotels, and relaxation places in exchange for money.

In a memorandum revealed on Social Media by Siggy.ng dated Tuesday, August 10, 2021, and signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Professor Michael Peter Okom, the university management decried what it described as “obnoxious and abhorrent” acts of sorting, extortions, and sexual harassment going on in the institution.
