Barely a week into resumption and Uniben has topped the list on Trending schools in Nigeria. From compulsory school routine to Solar Security to Medical Questionnaire to New dressing code, the institution has been the talk of students all over Nigeria on Social Media.
Since the inauguration of the institution’s second Female Vice Chancellor; Mrs Lilian Salami, the University of Benin has experienced a whole lot of turnaround with new rules springing up in a bid to “better the educational system of Uniben”.
Still this week the school management approved new dressing and hair codes for its male and female students. The law is to take effect from the 8th of February, 2021.
The school has once again place a law that puts an end to all illegal fees in various faculties and departments in the school. The banned payment fees include some and; “course registration” and “departmental collection”. To this effect, all academic staffs, course advisers, examination officers and departmental heads have been told to comply or face the wrath of the University.
Consequently, the “corrosive” faculty of engineering has followed suit and has directed all its staffs to desist from making students pay to register courses and all illegal transactions that might have been going on.

What do I do if I have already paid?
All money previously collected these session to this regard are to be properly documented and refunded to the students. Students of various departments who have already paid such levies are therefore mandated to request a refund from the appropriate authorities.
