Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra state, has written to the institution’s Rector, warning him about the institution’s exorbitant textbook costs.
It’s been barely a month since ASUP, OkoPoly Chapter called off its strike after 5 months and academic activities resumed in the institution.
“We are not a tool for money extortion”, writes Federal Polytechnic, Oko SUG to the Rector in response to lecturers’ exorbitant textbook charges.
The Rector was asked in a letter signed by the SUG president to cease all book sales while the institution establishes a consolidated and more reliable book pricing policy, Siggy reports.

Prices for first semester books of a department in School of Science was amounting to over 65 thousand naira. ” We are tired of this daylight robbery”, a student source told Siggy.ng
