List of 203 approved federal, state and private universities in Nigeria (2021)

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has released lists of 99 approved private universities, 55 approved state universities, 49 approved federal universities and 14 approved open University and Distance learning centres in Nigeria.

In addition, the NUC recognises the National open University of Nigeria(NOUN) as the only approved open university.

NUC also recognizes 14 distance learning centres being run by some universities.
