A PDP delegate from Kaduna named Tanko Sabo has revealed how he used his proceeds from the primary election to sponsor WAEC & NECO fees of students, Siggy reveals.
A delegate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Kaduna, , who was selected to vote for the party’s presidential primaries took to his Facebook page to give a breakdown of how he spent the money he made from the election.
Sabo said he paid N6.9 million as WAEC and NECO examination fees for 150 orphans and the underprivileged in his local government, while N100,000 was given as logistics to the five-man committee set up to go around the schools to pay the examination fees.
He further revealed that N3.2 million was spent on the purchase of 42 customized jerseys, including goal keepers’ outfits, socks, and tracksuits for a football coach to promote the game among the youths in the area. PDP ward executives in the LGA were also given N1.3 million.
Sabo who represented Sanga LGA at the primaries was said to have promised to give back whatever monetary benefits he made from the primaries to the community if elected as a delegate.
His story has generated mixed reactions amongst social media users. While some people praised him for being accountable and true to his word, others accused him of being corrupt by accepting the money which they described as a ”bribe”.
